Murmura

Murmura Kurmura or puffed rice is the perfect ingredient to make a healthy snack. This is tossed in tempering mustard oil, mixed with peanuts and poha, then coated with saathu. To add a little more crunch, bhujiya is mixed to make a perfect chatpata snack. It is a perfect accompaniment for tea/coffee or just munch while traveling.

INGREDIENTS

Murmura - 200 grms
Saathu - 1 cup
Thin Poha - 1/2 cup
Groundnut - 1/2 cup
Salt - 1 Tsp
Bhujiya - 300 grms
Mustard oil - 4 Tbsp
Pickle oil or Pickle - 1/4 tsp

Coriander leaves - 10 stems finely chopped
Green chilly - 2 finely chopped
Onion - 1 Large finely chopped

Heat a thick bottom wok on high flame
Add murmura to the wok and stir continuously for 5 to

8 mins - dry fry till crisp
Set it aside.
In the same pan pour 4 tbsp of mustard oil
Then immediately add groundnut
As they turn golden brown
Add salt 1 tsp and stir once
Add poha and stir - as you see they puff up, simmer the

Add the saathu and mix well
We add saathu as the coating on the murmura and

poha to retain the crispyness
Now add bhuijya and mix well
Set aside in a large bowl and let it cool before storing or

it can be served warm to the kids as is
After it cools, store in an air tight container
Further, to enhance the flavors and give a nice

chatpaata flavour, add onions, green chilly, coriander

leaves, little pickle oil and mix well
Serve to family and friends
