Makes for 2
Ingredients
Chirer - 3 cups (thick poha)
Oil - 3Tbs
Groundnut - less than 1/4 cup
Cashew nuts - 15
Cloves, Cinnamon sticks, Cardamom, and Bay Leaf - 1 each (Whole Garam Masala)
Onions - 1 medium finely chopped
Green Chilies - 4 cut into half
Potato - 1 medium finely chopped
Carrot - 1/2 in medium finely chopped
Peas - 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Red chili powder - 1 Tbs
Sugar - 1/2 Tbs
Ghee - 1Tbs
Coriander to garnish
Heat oil in pan ... first add the groundnut and cashew nuts as they turn golden brown add the whole garam masala ... as soon as they crack, add onions and green chilies fry for 2 mins and then add the potato cook it approx 5 mins..add carrot and peas fry cook for about 3mins, now sprinkle salt+red chili powder+sugar and reduce the flame to medium low and cook under cover for about 4mins ... or until the potato turns soft.. in meantime .. wash the poha... strain it and mix well., cook undercover on medium flame. for about 5 mins and garnish with ghee and coriander.. and serve... just yummy...
