Paddu


Description :- Roasted Idli with onions green chilly seasoned with urad dal, mustard seeds and curry leaves. Paddu also called as paniyaram .. accompanied with ginger chatney

Makes for 2

Ingredients :-

Idli - 2 Cups
Onions - 1/2 in medium finely chopped
Green chilly - 1 finely chopped
Coriander leaves - 5 stems finely chopped
Curry leaves - 6
Mustard seeds - 1/4 Ts
Urad Dal - 1/4 Ts
Oil - 1 Ts
Salt - 2 pinch

Take a Bowl mix idli batter, onions, green chilly, coriander leaves, and salt.season with urad dal..mustard seeds,curry leaves.. ..and mix well. Heat the Paddu pan on a medium flame .. smear some oil .. scoop this batter in spoon.. fill the hallow surface ... sprinkle some oil around each .. cook undercover for about 4-5 mins ...then flip it and cook for 4- 5 mins .. repeat for the rest of the batter and serve with ginger chatney.

Ginger Chatney

Coconut grated or powder - 1/4 cup
Whole Dhaliya - 1/4 cup
Ginger - 1 inch
Green Chilly - 2
Tamarind paste - 1/2 Ts
Coriander - 10 stems
Salt - to taste
Curry leaves - 6
Mustard seeds - 1/4 Ts
Oil - 1 Ts

Grind Coconut grated or powder,Whole Dhaliya,Ginger,Green Chilly,Tamarind paste,Coriander stems,Salt .. season with curry leaves and mustard seeds.
